Researchers uncovered a cache of action-figure-sized clay figurines in a Mayan pyramid in El Perú-Waká, Petén, Guatemala in 2006.
One of the figures found was a representation of a dwarf boxer, posed in a martial stance and wearing a fantastic helmet that captured the attention of the sci-fi and fantasy loving folks on the internet. I fell in love with this fierce little fellow. There’s just something delightful about those big “eyes” on his helmet.
The original figure is quite small, so it was a hoot to super-size the original design.
